CANON PERSONALITY: Neji is rather distant. When he was younger, he was pretty condescending to certain others, those who thought they could defy their ‘fate.’ However, certain events caused him to change his attitude, and while before he was distantly condescending, he is now distantly friendly. He doesn’t seem the type to cause a scene on purpose, and has only been seen to speak up when it’s important. While he is a very skilled person, he hasn’t been seen to flaunt that fact at all.
"ESPALION" BACKGROUND: Once upon a time there was a wonderful royal family, the Hyuuga family, said to descend from the Aziza. Unfortunately for Neji, he got put on the downside of the family, the Branch Family, which really only exists to serve the Main Family. One day, on the heiress’s birthday, she was captured by a different royal family, and her father, Hiashi, rushed to find her and killed the perpetrator, who happened to be the royal family’s leader. Unfortunately, this made the other royal family very, very angry and demanded Hiashi’s dead body as compensation. Neji’s father, Hizashi, who just happened to be Hiashi’s twin brother, was killed instead. Around the same time, Neji was branded with a curse seal, which bound him to service to the Main Family until his death. And thus, Neji went slightly emo and began becoming very fatalistic on everything.

On the bright side, he was given a very good education. That, and the fact that he was the most skilled user of the family magic since its conception many, many years ago, made him acknowledged as the greatest prodigy to ever be born upon the Hyuuga family.

Then one day, he met a boy who dressed in an atrocious shade of orange who disagreed with his point on life. As a result, Neji was very condescending to the boy. Then that boy kicked his butt into the ground, and Neji began seeing the bright side of life.

Since he was so smart and skilled, though, he was put to use in the military ranks, his very unique family magic – the strange ability to see through things, as well as further than any normal human being. Also using that ability, he can effect peoples’ internal organs and such. He was put into action as a spy, posing as a civilian.
